My Gardening Info: Succulents (2)

This is my 2nd purchase of succulents. All these came from nursery garden.

Eventually, I had never thought of buying additional succulents. As I had told my friend what is my next succulent, she quietly purchase and gave me a huge surprise of these 4 pots of succulents. Thank you so much.

(from clockwise)

1st Succulent:
Scientific Name: Echeveria setosa
English Name: Wolly Rose

Echeveria setosa, native to Mexico, forms rosettes of frosty green lanceolate leaves densely covered by white hairs. Leaves are tipped reddish in cold temperatures. Bright orange flowers bell-shaped flowers attract hummingbirds. Plant in porous soil with adequate drainage.

2nd Succulent:

Scientific Name: Crassula argentea cv. Gollum
English Name: Gollum Jade or Finger Jade

This small shrubby succulent plant has nearly tubular leaves whose ends are indented like a suction cup. Flowers are similar to those of C. ovata.

Crassula argentea cv. 'Gollum' is considered to be a monstrose form of the popular jade plant (Crassula argentea). The leaves, unlike the flattened leaves of regular Jade, form odd tubular, lime green "fingers". The tip of the leaf is flared, but depressed in the center and often a brilliant, translucent red. Excellent as patio plant or landscape plant. With its red-tipped fingers atop a thick, gnarly trunk "Gollum" is also a great bonsai subject; 1'-3' tall, 1'-2' wide. The jade plant is a popular subject for bonsai training due to the inherent gnarly character of the thickened trunk and the ease with which it can be pruned and trained. In the case of "Gollum", the red-tipped "fingers" are an added plus to create an interesting bonsai plant. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright light to full sun. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost.

3rd Succulent:

Scientific Name: Echeveria hybrid 'Dondo'
English Name: Echeveria Dondo'

A clumping succulent with pointed rosettes to 15cm in diameter of pale green leaves tipped with pink. Offsets freely. Yellow-orange flowers. Sun/part sun.

Echeveria 'Dondo' forms a very compact rosette of short, chunky apple green leaves. Very short racemes with multiple floral displays of bright orange bell-shaped flowers that are golden yellow inside and appear to be molded from wax. Echeverias grow on rocky outcroppings at higher altitudes. In this habitat, the water drains quickly away from the roots of the plant, never allowing the plant to remain waterlogged. For this reason, it is essential in cultivation to use a very porous soil, which will allow quick drainage. Bright light is required to prevent "stretching" of Echeverias ("stretching" occurs when a moderately fast growing plant such as an Echeveria, is grown in dim light or over-fertilized, which causes overly lush growth that contributes to weak, pallid plants). Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost.

4th Succulent:

Scientific Name: Echeveria lilacina
English Name: Ghost Echeveria

Exposure: Sun

Water: Deeply but infrequently
Blooms: Spring
Flowers: Coral
Considerations: Outdoors in summer, indoors/greenhouse for protection in winter

5th Succulent (right plant given by my friend):
Scientific Name: Sansevieria 'Superba
English Name: Mother-in-Law's Tongue

A 'Mother-in-Law's Tongue' cultivar with stiff upright green leaves, banded with white and edged in yellow. Requires very little maintenance and grows very well in shade. Very hardy. Part sun/light shade.

CIC336: Cupcake Inspirations: Color Challenge

Hi everyone

Thanks for coming back to my humble blog. Today I spent most of my time doing some sewing and fabric craft. I successfully make a reversible totebag (which should be my last year project) and Christmas cat.

I started Christmas cat plush last week and managed to make another 3 plushies.

Reversible totebag. That is my mom's hand. She helps me to carry the bag so that I can snap a photo of the bag.

This is my first Christmas cat.

Gardening: Succulents

Recently, I started gardening with succulents. I was thinking to plant some cactus but not my big time favorite as they have spike on it.

Last week, when I was doing some window shopping, these 2 succulents catches my eye. I love it so much and of course, with influence from one of my friend who keep on posting her succulents in Facebook.

I personally love succulents as they are not spiky and you can do some decoration with these plants.

These are the 2 pots I bought from one of the local shopping mall.

Then, during the same week as well, on Saturday, my friend eventually helps me buying 4 pot of succulents, also gave me another pot of plant.

These are the 4 succulents bought by my friend.

And, another pot on the right of the photo was a gift from her.

Gotta find more info of my plants and how to take care them. Green finger starting soon.

Stay tuned!

CIC334: Cupcake Inspirations: Color Challenge and Occasion Update

Hey everyone.

Yes, I have been quite for nearly 2 weeks as I was busy with an event from 23 Oct to 25 Oct 2015.

I participate in handmade market organized under My Handy Creations from Brothers Malaysia. It is a 3 days full event. We get to know new friends and we shared with what we know & how to craft. Well, arts and crafts is a co-related subject.

Below photos are a little throwback for the handmade market. Yes, being a kids before, we did enjoyed taking photos from the Kidzania mascot. Fun and cheer! Of course, a showcase how I make my booth beautiful. Hehehe... I did share booth with my friend, Mikylayna. Also, having my crafter members from ACG participated in the same bazaar.

Also, received gifts from our members and other crafter too. Thank you so much.

As for today and yesterday, I attended wedding dinner of my very close friend of mine whom I know for nearly 9 years. Both of us working in the same co. and same team. We shared story, laughter at anytime. I love the way she is and a person who is truly motivates people around and gave full supports! Always POSITIVE! Sally, wishing you a 'Happy Marriage' live as you entering new chapter and blessed with happiness and joy until you grew old with your, Mr. Right. Sorry, if I did not wrote much on your guest book yesterday night, yet I written here in my very personal and inspiring blog. Thankful for inviting me to be one of your bridesmaids. Seen how would you be 'crazy' that night and I am so happy for you! (eye watery....) You are just like my big sister to me! Happy for you, SIS!

Wedding dinner was also like a gathering for me (and I believe most of us too). As we been in the same co. for a long time, we do have same group of friend. It's never failed to have a gathering tot see old friends again. Thank you.

 Wedding dinner.

Morning session. Congrats! Please take care of my sis, groom.

Photo booth / wedding reception decor.

Grateful for being part of the team to help the bride to decor the photo booth / wedding reception decor. It was a garden theme concept. This design was collaborated with the bride herself also another friend (a guy - as the bike belongs to him and kept on insisted that the bike is the main subject --- I agreed!). Being part of the designs team is not easy as you need to prepare your stuffs very early and mantle and dismantling it. Team work!
